Daily Burn Regulations
For daily outdoor burning regulations, choose one of the following:
Requirements for Recreational Fire Pits:
- All burning shall be attended by a responsible resident of the property that is at least 18 years of age.
- The use of gasoline or other accelerants cannot be used to start the fire.
- All outdoor fireplaces should be kept a minimum of 15 feet from any combustible structures.
- Never burn when wind speed exceeds 15 mph or during a burn ban.
Requirements That Must Be Met To Conduct An Outside Burn
- Keep fire a minimum of 100 feet from all buildings
- All burning shall be attended by a responsible resident of the property that is at least 18 years of age.
- The use of gasoline or other accelerants cannot be used to start the fire.
- Have fire extinguishment materials on hand, including water supply, shovels, and rakes.
- Platte County Dispatch must be contacted before the outside burn is started.
